Author of report: Lenschow/Stevens
Mission Number:: RF08
Start time of Mission: 2001/07/25 19:58 UTC
Submitted at: 20010726:06:07
MISSION REPORT:

Clear at takeoff, Dewpoint 15.0, Temperature 22.5 deg C. cloud tops were generally about 2000 ft. quite uniform cloud tops. considerable drizzle observed by radar. fairly uniform, but with more drizzle in NE than SW. Almost solid clouds everywhere. winds mostly from the NW and light-maybe 5 m/s. early in flight, clouds were more cellular, and extended below 500', and perhaps down to near the surface in spots. Later, the cloud layer became more uniform, probably because of enhanced mixing as the solar heating decreased.
